India Thrashes Bangladesh in T20I Opener

India and Bangladesh kicked off a three-match T20I series on Sunday, October 6th. Following their Test series victory, Team India aimed to continue their winning streak in the shorter format. The inaugural match took place at the newly constructed Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. India emerged victorious by a convincing margin of 7 wickets.

Opting to field first after winning the toss, India restricted Bangladesh to a modest total of 127 runs in 19.5 overs. Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy were the pick of the Indian bowlers, claiming three wickets each. Hardik Pandya, Mayank Agarwal, and Washington Sundar also contributed with a wicket apiece.

In reply, India chased down the target with ease, reaching 132 runs in 11.5 overs. Hardik Pandya played a blistering knock of 39 off just 16 balls, finishing the match with a six. Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson both contributed 29 runs each. Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy played a valuable knock of 16*.*
