12 Convicted to Life Imprisonment in Suresh Raina’s Uncle’s M*rder Case

Pathankot Court Delivers Verdict
A Punjab court has sentenced 12 individuals to life imprisonment for the m*rder of cricketer Suresh Raina’s uncle. The court has also imposed a fine of ₹2 lakh on each of the convicts. The court, in its order, stated that there is sufficient evidence against all the accused, hence they are sentenced to life imprisonment.
Women Involved in Robbery
The incident occurred in Tharial village of Pathankot in 2020. Suresh Raina’s uncle and some others were present in a house when a group of people, including women, barged in. The accused looted the house at gunpoint and m*rdered two people, including Raina’s uncle, when they resisted.
Planned Execution
The Punjab’s Pathankot District Court’s chargesheet revealed that the accused had planned the crime meticulously. They launched a fatal attack on two people who resisted the robbery, leading to their deaths. The police had registered a case under m*rder and robbery charges. The court in its order clarified that in addition to life imprisonment, all the convicts will have to pay a fine of ₹2 lakh each.

Shapurkandi Police Station Case
This case was registered at the Shapurkandi police station. The case’s lawyer, Harish Pathania, informed about the court’s decision and stated that a total of 12 people, including women, were involved in the robbery. He said that the accused had entered the house with the intention of looting and had fled after committing the m*rder.
