Dr. Balbir Announces ₹19 Crore Investment for Road Infrastructure in Ghanaur Region

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh has announced a comprehensive plan to revamp the roads in the Ghanaur area, with an investment of approximately ₹190 million. During his visit to Sarala Head, he assessed the current condition of the roads and directed officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Punjab Mandi Board, Panchayati Raj, and BML to expedite repair and maintenance work on the roads and bridges under their jurisdiction.

Dr. Singh detailed the allocation of funds for specific projects:

  • ₹62.8 million for the 5.44-kilometer stretch from Untsar to Lohsimbli.
  • ₹120 million for the 17.5-kilometer road from Ambala to Patiala via Kapuri-Lohsimbli.
  • ₹11.5 million for the 1.13-kilometer link road from Sarala Kalan to the Haryana border.

He emphasized the importance of completing these projects promptly and instructed the Panchayat Department officials to initiate immediate action to deepen the village pond in Sarala Kalan. Dr. Singh reiterated the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s administration to the holistic development of the state.

Additionally, the Health Minister directed the PWD to repaint faded white lines on the roads to enhance safety during foggy conditions, aiming to reduce the risk of accidents.

The visit was attended by officials including S.P. Rajesh Chhibber, S.D.M. Rajpura Avikesh Gupta, S.D.M. Dudhan Sadhan Kripalbir Singh, Executive Engineer Naveen Mittal, and D.D.P.O. Shavinder Singh, among others.
