Defending champions India made a resounding start to their ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 campaign, comfortably defeating West Indies by nine wickets at the Bayuemas Oval.

The Indian bowlers continued to exert pressure, with Jahzara Claxton and Brianna Harricharan falling cheaply. Three run outs further dented the West Indies’ hopes, leaving them struggling to build any momentum. Parunika Sisodia claimed three wickets, while Aayushi Shukla also contributed significantly to the impressive bowling performance.
In reply, India lost opener Gongadi Trisha early, but Sanika Chalke and G Kamalini steadied the ship with an unbeaten 43-run partnership to guide their team to victory in just 4.2 overs.
