Jalandhar Police Return ₹13 Crore Worth of Seized Property to Owners in “Arpan Samaroh”

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police held “Arpan Samaroh,” an event where they returned seized property worth over ₹13 crore to their rightful owners. The initiative aimed to strengthen trust between the police and the public.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav highlighted that the event saw the return of:
- 413 vehicles
- 85 mobile phones
- Various household items, jewelry, and other domestic goods
These items were linked to 583 cases registered in Jalandhar over the past year.
In addition, approximately 100 lost smartphones, valued at ₹20 lakh, were returned after being traced through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
CP Jalandhar Swapan Sharma explained that the initiative focused on returning hard-earned belongings that had been stolen, snatched, or involved in criminal cases. The event was attended by numerous complainants eager to reclaim their property, with support from 14 jurisdictional Station House Officers (SHOs) and SHOs from the Women’s Police Station.

CP Sharma stressed the importance of timely return of seized property to maintain its value and usability.
Several beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the police. Baljeet Kaur, who recovered her stolen smartphone, stated she had lost all hope of getting it back. Other beneficiaries, including Manjit Singh, Jyoti, Rakesh Kumar, and Arvind Kumar, shared similar sentiments.
