CM Mann Embarks on Netherlands Visit to Attract Global Investments and Boost Punjab’s Industrial Growth

From Food Processing to IT & Logistics – CM Targets Key Sectors to Position Punjab as a Global Investment Hub

Chandigarh, April 18

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann embarked on an official visit to the Netherlands with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties and attracting foreign investments in key sectors including Food Processing, Logistics, Alloys & Steels, Pharmaceuticals, and Information Technology.

This visit is part of the Punjab Government’s continued efforts to boost industrial growth and economic development in the state.

Speaking before his departure, CM Mann said, “Our vision is clear — to make Punjab the preferred destination for global investors by ensuring policy stability, speed in decision-making, and a governance system that respects the time and trust of investors.”

The Netherlands is one of the largest sources of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India, and several Dutch companies already have a strong presence in Punjab. Notably, in October 2023, CM Mann laid the foundation stone of the De Heus factory at Vividha Industrial Park, Rajpura. The Indo-Dutch Centre of Excellence for Potato is also successfully operational in the state, highlighting the growing partnership between the two regions.

During the visit, the Chief Minister will actively pitch for strategic collaborations in priority sectors and showcase Punjab’s strengths — its strategic location, excellent connectivity to the National Capital Region (NCR) and major ports, robust industrial clusters, uninterrupted quality power supply, skilled workforce, and progressive policy framework.

The delegation led by CM Mann will highlight key governance reforms introduced by the Punjab Government, including the FastTrack Punjab single-window clearance system, which offers over 173 G2B services, auto-deemed approvals, PAN-based business identifiers, and amendments to the Punjab Right to Business Act for time-bound approvals.

Through roadshows, one-to-one business meetings, and interactions with leading global corporations and institutions, the delegation aims to position Punjab as an attractive investment destination for European companies and bring fresh investments into the state.
