The ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 league stage has concluded, with Australia and South Africa set to battle it out for the title at Lord’s in June. Here’s a breakdown of each team’s performance throughout the cycle:
1. South Africa (69.44% Points Percentage): Dominant both home and away, South Africa secured series wins against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Bangladesh, while drawing against India at home. Their only series loss came in New Zealand, with a weakened squad. Their consistent performance earned them a spot in their first WTC final.

2. Australia (67.54% Points Percentage): The defending champions will have a chance to defend their title. A drawn Ashes series in England was followed by a dominant home series against Pakistan. A draw against West Indies was a minor setback, but victories over New Zealand and Sri Lanka, along with a home series win against India, sealed their place in the final.
3. India (50.00% Points Percentage): India narrowly missed out on a third consecutive WTC final. A series win in the West Indies and a draw in South Africa were followed by home series wins against England and Bangladesh. However, a home series loss to New Zealand and a challenging tour of Australia proved costly.

5. England (43.18% Points Percentage): England played the most matches (22) and won 11. However, significant over-rate penalties (22 points deducted) hampered their progress. Despite series wins against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and West Indies, the penalties kept them from a higher finish.
