Minister Urges Officials to Update Poshan Tracker for Greater Transparency
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s Administration Committed to Supporting Anganwadi Workers

The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has released Rs 68.95 crore for honorariums to Anganwadi workers and helpers throughout the state. This financial support highlights the government’s dedication to the well-being of individuals who play a crucial role in child development and community health.
Dr. Baljit Kaur, the Minister of Social Security, Women, and Child Development, announced the release of the funds, reaffirming the Punjab Government’s focus on Anganwadi workers and helpers. “We are committed to addressing the needs of various societal groups, but the welfare of Anganwadi workers and helpers is particularly important to us. The Chief Minister has already announced the recruitment of 3,000 Anganwadi workers during a state-level event in Barnala on Rakhi, which will open new employment opportunities and further empower women across the state,” Dr. Kaur said.
The grant will cover honorariums for the period from July 2024 to October 2024. The funds will be distributed across districts, including Rs 4.81 crore for Amritsar, Rs 3.56 crore for Bathinda, Rs 1.65 crore for Barnala, Rs 1.80 crore for Fatehgarh Sahib, Rs 1.40 crore for Faridkot, Rs 3.21 crore for Ferozepur, and Rs 2.74 crore for Fazilka. Additionally, Rs 5.14 crore will go to Gurdaspur, Rs 4.82 crore to Hoshiarpur, Rs 4.10 crore to Jalandhar, Rs 2.26 crore to Kapurthala, Rs 5.97 crore to Ludhiana, Rs 2.28 crore to Sri Muktsar Sahib, Rs 2.47 crore to Moga, Rs 2.14 crore to Mansa, Rs 2.14 crore to Pathankot, Rs 4.69 crore to Patiala, Rs 2.22 crore to Rupnagar, Rs 1.63 crore to SAS Nagar, Rs 5.01 crore to Sangrur and Malerkotla, Rs 1.97 crore to SBS Nagar, and Rs 2.86 crore to Tarn Taran

The Minister highlighted that this financial assistance reflects the government’s commitment to supporting Anganwadi workers and helpers, who play a key role in ensuring the health and development of children and mothers in Punjab.
Dr. Baljit Kaur also directed district officials to update the Poshan tracker data to promote transparency and accountability, ensuring that resources are used effectively for the community’s benefit.
