Public Trust Evident Through Record Candidate Applications, Confident of Historic Win: Aman Arora
Chandigarh, December 10
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) conducted a crucial preparatory and review meeting in anticipation of the upcoming Urban Local Body elections slated for December 21. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP Punjab President Aman Arora presided over the gathering, which included senior party leaders, ministers, MLAs, district office-bearers, and other key members.
Highlighting the meeting’s energy and commitment, Aman Arora emphasized AAP’s focus on selecting candidates transparently and meritocratically for the 977 wards across five municipal corporations, 43 municipal committees, councils, and nagar panchayats.
Arora stated, “Guided by AAP National Convenor Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Organization General Secretary Dr. Sandeep Pathak, Punjab has been divided into 10 zones to streamline the candidate selection process. Screening committees, each comprising MPs, MLAs, and district office-bearers, have been formed, with nine members in every zone overseeing the process.”
He described the unprecedented involvement of approximately 350 party office-bearers in the screening process as a testament to AAP’s commitment to inclusivity and fair representation. “The remarkable number of applications—an average of 12 to 15 per ward—shows the public’s immense trust in AAP’s governance and vision,” Arora added.

These elections will ensure that development reaches every corner of Punjab through committed and capable leadership,” he said.
AAP’s candidate selection process aims to identify individuals with high merit and the ability to connect with voters’ aspirations. “Today’s meeting showcased our enthusiasm and determination. We are confident of achieving a historic victory and further strengthening public trust in the Aam Aadmi Party,” Arora concluded.
