District Cricket Association Barnala registered a commanding 142-run victory over Black Elephant Cricket Club Patiala in a one-day friendly match played on Saturday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Barnala posted a challenging total of 284 for 6 in their 50 overs. Jatin Marwaha top-scored with a fluent 61, while Navjot Singh contributed a solid 53 and Sehaj made 46. Akshit Kaushal provided late impetus with a quickfire 40.
In reply, Black Elephant CC started aggressively, racing to 33 without loss in just 5.5 overs, courtesy of openers Jasraj Singh and Himanshu Lamba. However, once the opening stand was broken, the innings fell apart dramatically. No other batter could reach double figures effectively, and the side was bowled out for 142 in just 35.1 overs — leaving 14.1 overs unused.
Keshav Pandey, Harmanjit Singh, and Akshit Kaushal picked up two wickets each to complete a clinical bowling performance.
