
DEDICATES WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE PROJECTS IN THE CITY
REITERATES COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE BASIC CIVIC AMENITIES ACROSS PUNJAB
Abohar, December 5
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann delivered a major development package to Abohar, inaugurating a Water Supply Scheme and Sewerage Projects aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted that these projects represent a key milestone in Abohar’s development. Built at a cost of Rs. 119.16 crore, the projects will ensure a steady supply of clean water to nearly 1.5 lakh residents. He noted that the automated Water Supply Scheme, with a capacity of 3.50 MGD (million gallons per day), will draw and supply canal water to the city’s residents.
Emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted water supply, Mann reiterated his government’s dedication to improving the quality of life in urban areas. “These projects are a testament to our commitment to delivering essential civic services to every town in Punjab,” he said.

The Water Supply Project, developed at a cost of Rs. 27.06 crore, will serve 100% of Abohar’s population in its first phase. Similarly, the Sewerage Project, costing Rs. 92.10 crore, will also cover the entire city in its initial phase.
The Chief Minister envisioned that these projects would act as catalysts for growth and prosperity in the entire border district, with Abohar set to benefit significantly from this enhanced infrastructure. “This investment is not just in infrastructure, but in the future prosperity of Abohar and its residents,” Mann added.
