Cricket legends Mithali Raj and Yuvraj Singh, along with Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, and Jemimah Rodrigues, participated in vibrant panel discussions on various facets of women’s cricket at a grand event in Mumbai to mark the ‘50 Days to Go’ milestone for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The event also launched the tournament’s Trophy Tour.
The ceremony was inaugurated by ICC Chairman Mr. Jay Shah, with International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO Mr. Sanjog Gupta also joining the panel discussions.
ICC Chairman Mr. Jay Shah highlighted that the upcoming World Cup presents a significant opportunity to advance women’s cricket and valued the insights shared by current and former players during the discussions.

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, featuring eight teams—Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka—competing in a round-robin format, will be the first women’s global cricket event in the subcontinent since India hosted the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2016. India previously hosted the Women’s World Cup in 1978, 1997, and 2013.
Trophy Tour: The tournament’s promotion will be amplified through a Trophy Tour visiting all host cities, as well as Delhi and Mumbai, with stops at iconic landmarks. Fans can follow the tour’s journey on the dedicated @icctrophytour Instagram channel.
As part of a broader school legacy program, the Trophy Tour will visit several schools in each host city. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the ICC will collaborate with stakeholders to provide selected schools with opportunities to attend World Cup matches, fostering greater engagement with the sport.
