President’s Medal for Punjab Police on Republic Day Eve

— DGP Gaurav Yadav Congratulates Awardees; Thanks Centre and State Govt for Recognizing Punjab Police Services

Chandigarh, January 25:

In recognition of their outstanding contributions, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has announced the names of several Punjab Police officers and officials to be honoured with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PMDS) and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS) on the eve of the 77th Republic Day.

The following senior officers will receive the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service:

  • ADGP Investigation (Lokpal) Punjab Vibhu Raj
  • Director, Bureau of Investigation (BOI) Punjab LK Yadav
  • ADGP Jails Arun Pal Singh

The Medal for Meritorious Service will be conferred upon 15 officers/officials, including:

  • IPS officer and DIG Security, Raj Bhawan Jasdev Singh Sidhu
  • Five PPS officers:
    • AIG SSG Randeep Singh Mann
    • DSP AGTF Rajan Parminder Singh
    • DSP Vigilance Bureau Navdeep Singh
    • ACP PBI Amritsar Sapinder Kaur
    • DSP SPU Harinderdeep Singh

The remaining awardees are:

  • Inspector Sukhjit Singh
  • Inspector Harish Kumar
  • Lady Inspector Manjit Kaur
  • Inspector Talwinder Singh
  • Inspector Rajinder Kumar
  • Inspector Pritpal Singh
  • Lady Sub-Inspector Dharamjit Kaur
  • Sub-Inspector Bhupinder Singh
  • Assistant Sub-Inspector Swaranjit Kaur

Expressing his congratulations to all the awardees, Director General of Police Punjab Gaurav Yadav thanked both the Central Government and the State Government for recognizing the exemplary services of these officers. He noted that such honours significantly boost the morale of the entire Punjab Police force and motivate personnel to serve with greater dedication and devotion—especially crucial in a border state facing complex and multifaceted security challenges.
