Unveiling Punjab’s Hidden Gems: Young Authors Release Book on Historical Sites

Two young authors, Lehnaaz Rana and Noor Dhillon, both class twelve students, have launched their book titled “The Time Capsule” today. The book chronicles their journey through some of Punjab’s most significant, yet lesser-known historical sites.
Over the past year and a half, Rana and Dhillon embarked on an exploration across the state. Their itinerary included Kapurthala Palace, Lodhi Fort, Burail Fort, Manauli Fort, Sanghol Stupa, and numerous other historical treasures. Their exploration culminated in a captivating book, richly illustrated with photographs, that brings these monuments to life.

“The Time Capsule” delves into the detailed accounts of the forts and palaces visited. It also sheds light on the royal jewels of the Patiala, Kapurthala, and Faridkot families, showcasing the intriguing connection between Punjab’s history and European craftsmanship.
This book serves as a testament to their dedication. It is the culmination of their experiences in research, painting, and meticulously documenting these historical sites.
“For a long time, many of these monuments have remained hidden from public view,” Rana and Dhillon explained. “These historical landmarks speak volumes about Punjab’s rich heritage, cultural ethos, and the passage of time. We were overwhelmed by their beauty and felt compelled to document them in a book.”
Historian and educationist Shekhar Dutt, who unveiled the book, lauded the young authors. “This book is an eye-opener,” he said. “It takes readers on a captivating tour of these monuments. Their efforts are truly commendable, especially considering their young age. It shows a deep understanding of the importance of history and historical preservation.”
