Former Indian cricketer and coach Anshuman Gaekwad passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 71.
A stalwart of Indian cricket, Gaekwad represented the country in 40 Test matches and 15 One Day Internationals, amassing 1985 and 269 runs respectively. His illustrious career extended beyond playing, as he also served as the Indian cricket team’s head coach and a selector.

The cricketing fraternity is mourning the loss of this legendary figure. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had previously extended financial aid of Rs 1 crore towards Gaekwad’s cancer treatment.
