Annabel Sutherland has been awarded the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for December 2024, recognizing her outstanding all-round performances for Australia. She played a crucial role in Australia’s unbeaten run across five ODIs (three against India and two against New Zealand), earning Player of the Match awards in three of those games and Player of the Series honors in both.

Sutherland’s contributions with both bat and ball earned her the award, ahead of Smriti Mandhana and Nonkululeko Mlaba. Her key achievements during the month include:
- Batting: 269 runs at an average of 67.25 and a strike rate of 113.98, including two centuries: 110 against India in Perth and an unbeaten 105 against New Zealand in Wellington.
- Bowling: Nine wickets at an average of 16.22 and an economy rate of 3.85, with a standout performance of 4/39 against India in the second ODI in Brisbane.
After a quiet start to the month, Sutherland delivered a match-winning performance in the second ODI against India, taking 4/39. She then scored a brilliant 110 off 95 balls in the final ODI, helping Australia secure a 3-0 series sweep. She continued her excellent form against New Zealand, scoring an unbeaten 105* off 81 balls and contributing 42 runs and three wickets in the final match to ensure another series win and maintain Australia’s unbeaten record for the month.
