Pride for Punjab: Jalandhar-Made Rugby Balls to Be Used in Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025

In a moment of pride and history for Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal flagged off a consignment of 25,000 rugby balls manufactured by Jalandhar-based Savi International for the prestigious Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

Both leaders expressed immense pride in being present at Jalandhar, India’s sports manufacturing hub, emphasizing that it is a matter of great honor for Punjab that rugby balls crafted by Savi International will be used in this global sporting event. Kejriwal remarked, “It is a source of pride for Punjab that Jalandhar-made rugby balls will be used in the World Cup.”

They further noted that the sports industry is generating thousands of jobs and establishing Punjab as a global manufacturing powerhouse. Highlighting Jalandhar’s worldwide reputation in sports goods, the leaders praised the hardworking and visionary manufacturers for consistently producing world-class products. They reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment to strongly support this growing sector.

Both leaders underscored that Punjab has always been a land of courage and enterprise, and today it stands ready to lead India’s industrial revival with the same spirit. For the first time in the state’s history, industrial policies have been crafted in consultation with industrialists, ensuring a conducive and business-friendly environment. They emphasized that the government has efficiently addressed all major demands of the industry.

Major companies like Tata Steel and Sanatana Textiles are investing in Punjab, leveraging its business-friendly climate, robust infrastructure, reliable power supply, skilled workforce, and strong industrial work ethic.
