-Ensures Compensation for All Genuine Flood Victims
Chandigarh, September 26
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Friday, instructed Commissioners of Police (CPs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to maintain strict oversight of the law and order situation throughout the state.
In a virtual meeting with CPs and SSPs, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of close coordination with civil administration to ensure timely rehabilitation of flood victims. He stressed that relief and compensation must be provided exclusively to genuine victims who have incurred verifiable losses due to the floods. Mann urged the officers to work diligently to achieve this goal, highlighting the critical need for seamless collaboration between civil and police administrations to accomplish this vital task.
The Chief Minister also called for implementing key confidence-building measures in flood-affected areas to ensure victims receive adequate support. He directed officers to streamline relief operations to ensure aid reaches those in need promptly and without complications.
Reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy toward crime, Mann urged CPs and SSPs to intensify efforts to maintain law and order across Punjab.

Additionally, the Chief Minister praised the Punjab Police for their exemplary role during the flood crisis, noting that their significant contributions will be etched in the state’s history. He commended their ongoing efforts in the “Yudh Nasheyan De Virudh” anti-drug campaign and their robust actions against gangsters. Mann expressed confidence in the Punjab Police’s legacy and their continued commitment to safeguarding the state’s peace, progress, and prosperity.
Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, and other senior officials were also present during the meeting.
