Foundation Stone Laid for ₹1.02 Crore Shed in Chhappar

– No compromise on quality or timeline; negligence will not be tolerated – MLA Ghannaur

Ghanaur, November 12

S. Gurlal Ghanaur, President of Punjab Kabaddi Association and MLA, today laid the foundation stone for a ₹1.02 crore state-of-the-art shed at Chapar Village Grain Market. Measuring 200 ft in length and 75 ft in width, the shed will provide major relief to farmers and labourers during the procurement season by protecting crops from rain and harsh sunlight.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Gurlal Ghannaur said that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and special efforts of Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Barsat, development works in Ghannaur constituency are being accelerated at an unprecedented pace.

He emphasized that the Mann government’s mission is to equip every grain market in Punjab with modern facilities so that farmers face zero inconvenience during crop sale. “The Punjab Government stands shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers. We are taking revolutionary steps to protect farmers’ interests, ensure fair prices, and strengthen agricultural infrastructure,” he added.

The new shed will ensure smooth market operations even during adverse weather, making procurement faster, safer, and more organized. MLA Ghannaur directed Mandi Board officials to maintain top-quality standards and complete the work on time, warning that any negligence will not be tolerated.

He assured residents that the shed will be completed at the earliest and handed over to farmers, further boosting confidence in the Mann government’s farmer-first approach.

Villagers and Market Committee members thanked the MLA, stating that the ongoing development works under the Mann government have instilled new hope and enthusiasm among the people.

Present on the occasion were Gurtaj Singh Sandhu, Sarpanch Inderjeet Singh Sialu, Sarpanch Harpreet Happy, Block President Gurpreet Singh Mannan, Gurpreet, Sarpanch Damandeep Kheri, Chamkaur Singh, officials and members of Market Committees, concerned department officers, farmers, panches, sarpanches, and a large number of local residents.
