JEE Triumph: CM Mann Acknowledges 369 Punjab Achievers

SAS Nagar (Mohali), April 30

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann felicitated 369 students who excelled in the JEE Mains examination, describing their success as strong evidence of a turnaround in the state’s education system under the government’s “Sikhya Kranti” initiative.

Calling the students “Taare Zameen Par,” the Chief Minister said their achievement reflects how quality education—treated as a right rather than a privilege—along with empowered teachers and sustained reforms, is driving a structural rise in Punjab’s government schools.

Sharing a message on social media, he congratulated the students, their parents, and teachers, and expressed confidence that these young achievers will scale greater heights and bring pride to Punjab at the national and global level.

Addressing students, parents, and teachers, Mann said the success of these candidates is not an isolated event but the result of systematic reforms aimed at revitalizing government education. He noted that in the past, weak infrastructure, outdated systems, and lack of opportunities had held students back, but consistent efforts by the current government have changed the landscape.

Highlighting the role of teachers, he termed them “nation builders” and said no transformation in education is possible without their dedication. To support them, the government has reduced non-academic burdens by introducing campus managers, allowing teachers to focus entirely on teaching.

Mann also emphasized community participation through regular Parent-Teacher Meetings, ensuring greater involvement of parents in their children’s education. He added that government schools are now providing facilities comparable to private institutions, enabling students from economically weaker backgrounds to compete on equal footing.

Reiterating his government’s vision, the Chief Minister said, “Quality education is the right of every child.” He stressed that education is the most powerful tool for long-term transformation and urged students to aim high, step out of their comfort zones, and become role models in society.

He further highlighted initiatives such as sending teachers to countries like Finland and Singapore for advanced training, bringing global teaching practices into Punjab’s classrooms. These efforts, he said, are helping create an engaging, modern, and student-centric learning environment.

Encouraging parents, Mann advised them not to impose career choices on their children, urging them instead to support their individual talents and aspirations.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains, speaking at the event, said the education system was once on the brink of collapse but has seen visible improvement due to sustained reforms. He added that the government is now closely tracking student progress to provide better academic support.

Students also shared inspiring stories of overcoming hardships, crediting improved infrastructure, academic support, and government initiatives for their success.

The event was attended by senior officials, including Secretary Education Sonali Giri, along with teachers and parents, marking a significant milestone in Punjab’s journey toward educational excellence.
