Chandigarh/SAS Nagar, May 30
In a proud moment for Punjab, five former cadets of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar, successfully graduated from the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune, during the Passing Out Parade of the historic 150th NDA Course held on Saturday. The parade was reviewed by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM.
The five cadets, Jaskirtan Singh (Sangrur), Manjot Singh Walia and Dhruv Bhandari (Jalandhar), Harshdeep Singh (Patiala), and Parth Kavi (Mohali), completed three years of rigorous military training at the NDA after undergoing two years of foundational preparation at MRSAFPI.
Notably, a significant part of their training at MRSAFPI took place during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting their determination, discipline, and resilience. The cadets will now proceed to their respective service academies and are expected to be commissioned as officers in the Indian Armed Forces within the next year

Congratulating the cadets on their achievement, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora said their success has brought immense pride to Punjab. He described their accomplishment as a strong endorsement of the Punjab Government’s efforts, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, to prepare young people for careers in the nation’s defence services. He encouraged them to continue serving the country with dedication and excellence.
Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM, Director of MRSAFPI, expressed pride in the cadets’ achievement and highlighted that the institute’s momentum continues, with another 25 cadets scheduled to appear for their SSB interviews. He said the accomplishments of MRSAFPI alumni remain a source of pride for both the institute and the entire state of Punjab.
