During the event, the Chief Minister dedicated a 100-foot-tall tricolour flag, measuring 30 feet by 20 feet, installed at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum, to the public. Mann noted that the Rs 51.70 crore project is progressing rapidly and will be completed soon, serving as a humble tribute to the iconic martyr.

The Chief Minister detailed key features of the complex, including a Grand Thematic Gate and a 350-meter-long Heritage Street connecting the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum to his ancestral home. This street will narrate Bhagat Singh’s life and India’s freedom struggle through sculptures, 2D/3D wall art, and mannequins depicting colonial-era India. The complex will also include a 700-seat air-conditioned auditorium, a model of Bhagat Singh’s ancestral home in Lyallpur (now in Pakistan), and a recreated ancestral village along the Heritage Street.
Mann further shared that Bhagat Singh’s ancestral home in Khatkar Kalan is being restored and preserved, with a digital recreation of his courtroom trial to highlight his revolutionary zeal. The existing library is being modernized and digitized for an immersive experience, and additional amenities like a Tourist Facilitation Centre, cottages, horticultural landscaping, a musical fountain, and ample parking will be provided. The Chief Minister underscored the state government’s duty to preserve the legacy of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Describing Shaheed Bhagat Singh as not just an individual but an institution, Mann urged citizens to follow his ideals for the country’s progress. He highlighted the state government’s commitment to building a progressive and prosperous Punjab as envisioned by the martyr. Mann recalled that, for the first time in Punjab’s history, he and his entire Cabinet took their oath of office at Khatkar Kalan in 2022.
The Chief Minister noted that on March 23, 2022, the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, an anti-corruption helpline was launched from Hussainiwala, marking the start of a campaign against corruption. He also mentioned the installation of a 30-foot-tall statue of Shaheed-e-Azam at the entrance of Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, SAS Nagar (Mohali), which was officially renamed in his honor due to the state government’s efforts.
Mann added that the government has mandated portraits of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in all government offices to inspire public service. He called on the people to emulate these revolutionary leaders to build a vibrant and prosperous Punjab.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid a wreath at Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh’s statue and paid floral tributes at the memorial of his father, Sardar Kishan Singh. He also commended Diksha Raju, an 11th-grade student from Majara Deengrian, for creating a rangoli depicting the legendary martyr.
