Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann dedicated a state-of-the-art memorial honoring the legendary Sikh warrior Baba Jeevan Singh (Bhai Jaita Ji), constructed at a cost of ₹29 crore, to the people of Punjab. The memorial, located in the sacred land of Sri Anandpur Sahib, pays tribute to Baba Jeevan Singh’s supreme sacrifice and his pivotal role in Sikh history, particularly for bringing the severed head of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to Kiratpur Sahib.
A Tribute to a Sikh Legend
With deep reverence, Mann honored Baba Jeevan Singh’s martyrdom in the historic Battle of Chamkaur Sahib, where he fought valiantly against 1.25 lakh Mughal soldiers. The Chief Minister emphasized that the memorial, designed by the Architecture Wing of Sri Guru Nanak Dev University, embodies the spirit of Sikh history and humanity through its five galleries, inaugurated today in Sri Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of the Khalsa.

It includes an audio-visual of the Guru’s martyrdom at Chandni Chowk and the arduous journey from Delhi’s Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib to Kiratpur Sahib. The gallery also covers his role as the first drummer, his marriage, the creation of the Khalsa, and his bravery in battles.
