Punjab Welcomes “Ran Baas- The Palace”: CM Mann Unveils First Boutique Heritage Hotel
Tourism Sector to Reach New Heights, Heritage Street for Shaheed Bhagat Singh Envisaged
Patiala, January 15
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today dedicated “Ran Baas- The Palace,” the state’s first-ever boutique and heritage hotel, to the people at the historic Qila Mubarak in Patiala.
This elegantly designed hotel, a testament to public-private partnership, sets a new standard for luxury, hospitality, and comfort. CM Mann envisions it as a preferred destination for weddings and other events, poised to significantly boost tourism in Patiala and the entire state.
“Tourists will not only enjoy a comfortable stay but also experience the warm hospitality Punjab is renowned for,” said CM Mann. “This hotel will further enhance Patiala’s appeal as a premier wedding destination, complementing its existing significance as a hub for religious tourism.”

Beyond its grandeur, “Ran Baas- The Palace” beautifully reflects the state’s rich cultural heritage. CM Mann reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to making Punjab a leading tourist destination in the country. “From day one, it has been my dream to showcase Punjab’s vibrant culture and heritage to the world,” he stated.
Recognizing the immense potential of Punjab’s natural beauty, the government is actively developing tourist destinations around Chohal Dam, Ranjit Sagar Dam, Shahpur Kandi Dam, and the Kandi region.
The state government also plans to develop its landholdings in other states like Goa, Jaipur, and Mcleodganj into attractive tourist destinations. CM Mann highlighted a significant shift in approach, emphasizing that unlike previous governments who sold state assets, the current government is actively utilizing these resources for the benefit of the people.
The acquisition of the Goindwal power plant from GVK Power serves as a prime example of this new direction. “This marks a historic moment,” CM Mann said, “as it’s the first instance of a state government purchasing a private power plant, a stark contrast to the past where valuable assets were sold at throwaway prices.”
“Ran Baas- The Palace” marks the beginning of a new era in heritage hotel development. The state government plans to leverage historic buildings across Punjab to create more such projects. Recognizing Punjab’s natural beauty, CM Mann emphasized the state’s potential to attract the film industry and other sectors.

To honor the state’s contribution to the freedom struggle, the government will construct a heritage street at Shaheed-e-Aazam Bhagat Singh’s native village, Khatkar Kalan. This 850-meter street, extending from the existing museum to Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s ancestral home, will inspire youth by showcasing the state’s glorious role in India’s freedom movement.
“Anyone has the right to form a political party,” CM Mann said, “but ultimately, it’s the people who decide its fate. Punjab, known for its strong social fabric, fosters growth and prosperity, but the seed of hatred will never find fertile ground here. This land, blessed by the teachings of great Gurus, Saints, and seers, upholds the values of love, tolerance, and harmony.”
Located within the 18th-century Qila Mubarak complex, “Ran Baas- The Palace” offers a unique blend of royal heritage and modern amenities. With 35 suites, diverse dining options, and wellness facilities, the palace provides an unforgettable experience for travelers.
“This magnificent fort, a testament to the fusion of Mughal and Rajasthani architectural styles, reflects Punjab’s rich cultural heritage,” CM Mann said. “The palace seamlessly blends old and new, preserving its architectural integrity while offering contemporary comforts.”

“Ran Baas- The Palace” is poised to become a premier tourist destination, attracting global travelers and contributing significantly to the region’s economic growth.
