Finance Minister’s Initiative: A Path to Union Resolution

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, also the Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on employee issues, has directed the formation of a high-level committee to address the legitimate demands of the Verka Milk and Cattle Feed Plant Outsourced Employees Union. The directive was issued during a meeting with union representatives at the Verka headquarters, where Cheema attentively listened to their concerns and grievances.

Key Directives

Cheema instructed Milkfed officials to immediately constitute a committee comprising:

  • A senior officer from the Finance Department.

  • The Chairman of Milkfed.

  • The Managing Director of Milkfed.

  • A Director of Milkfed.

  • The General Manager (HR) of Milkfed.

  • The Manager (Finance) of Milkfed.

  • Two representatives from the Verka Outsourced Employees Union.

The committee is tasked with preparing detailed proposals to resolve the union’s issues comprehensively. These proposals will be forwarded to the Cabinet Sub-Committee for prompt and effective solutions. Cheema assured the union representatives that all their legitimate demands would be addressed.
