At the Asian Beach Games 2026, Indian athletes delivered an impressive performance, finishing with a total of six medals. Four of these came in beach wrestling, while the women’s and men’s kabaddi teams added a gold and a silver, respectively.
In wrestling, Priya Malik (women’s 70+kg) and Pushpa Yadav (women’s 60kg) secured gold medals. Meanwhile, Siddharth (men’s 70kg) won silver and Jaspreet Kaur (women’s 70kg) claimed bronze.
Pushpa Yadav dominated the women’s 60kg final, defeating China’s Xie Mengyu 3-0 to take the gold, with Vietnam’s Thi My Hanh Nguyen completing the podium. Priya Malik added another gold for India by edging Mongolia’s Bolortungalag Zorigt 3-2 in a closely contested women’s 70+kg final, while China’s Li Wenji took bronze.

Jaspreet Kaur bounced back after a semi-final loss to Vietnam’s Thi Linh Dang to win the bronze medal bout 2-0 against Kazakhstan’s Beibit Seidualy. In the same category, China’s Jia Long and Thi Linh Dang won gold and silver, respectively.
Among the men, Siddharth was India’s sole medallist in the 70kg category. After narrowly defeating Pakistan’s Muhammad Abdullah 1-0 in the semi-final, he settled for silver following a 3-0 loss to Iran’s Aliakbar Zaroudi in the final. Kyrgyzstan’s Adis Rakhat Uulu secured the remaining podium spot.
Earlier in the week, India’s women’s kabaddi team won gold, while the men’s team claimed silver, contributing to the country’s overall medal tally of three gold, two silver, and one bronze.
Indian athletes also competed in 3×3 basketball and sailing but did not secure any medals in those events.
Organised by the Olympic Council of Asia, the Asian Beach Games is a multi-sport event focused on beach and coastal disciplines. First held in Bali, Indonesia, in 2008, the Games highlight sports that are not always part of the Asian Games program.
