Competing Teams
The qualifier features six teams, including four ICC full members—Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Ireland—who finished between seventh and tenth in the ICC Women’s Championship (2023-25) standings, missing direct qualification. Scotland and Thailand join them as the next two highest-ranked teams in the ICC Women’s ODI Team Rankings as of October 28, 2024.
Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and hosts India have already secured their World Cup berths by finishing in the top six of the 10-team ICC Women’s Championship.
Tournament Kickoff
The action begins on April 9 with a double-header: hosts Pakistan face Ireland at Gaddafi Stadium, while West Indies take on Scotland at LCCA Stadium. On April 10, Bangladesh and Thailand will clash at LCCA.
ICC CEO’s Remarks
ICC CEO Geoff Allardice anticipates a fiercely contested event. “These six teams are just one step away from the Women’s Cricket World Cup, and I’m confident they’ll bring their best to the competition,” he said. “On behalf of the ICC, I wish all teams good luck and look forward to exciting cricket in Lahore as a prelude to the World Cup in India.”
