Patiala, 25 January (Sports Desk)

The ICC has unveiled the Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2024, recognizing the most outstanding players who dominated the 50-over format throughout the year. Let’s meet these exceptional cricketers:

ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2024

Smriti Mandhana (India)

747 runs in 13 matches

Mandhana began her year with a brisk 29 against Australia before truly hitting her stride mid-year during a home series against South Africa. Back-to-back centuries and a 90-run knock earned her the Player of the Series award with an impressive 343 runs.

Though she started slowly against New Zealand, a stunning century in the final ODI of that series made her India’s all-time leading century-maker in the format. Mandhana’s consistency shone in her tours to Australia and the West Indies, where she delivered three more centuries and two fifties. Her tally of 747 runs secured her the top spot as the leading ODI run-scorer of the year, and she remains a strong contender for the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2024.
