Objectives and Outcomes of the Mega PTM

The Mega PTM was designed to improve student learning outcomes through active parental involvement. Minister Bains highlighted that school heads briefed parents about holiday homework, urging them to ensure its completion during the summer break. Parents were also informed about the syllabus for the upcoming bi-monthly test scheduled for July 15, 2025. Additionally, for students in Classes III to VIII, details of video lectures and practice questions under Mission Samarth were shared to support continuous learning during the holidays.

Bains emphasized that such interactions are key to creating a collaborative learning environment in government schools, ultimately benefiting students by aligning efforts between home and school.

Celebrating World Environment Day and Bagless Day

Alongside the Mega PTM, Punjab’s government schools marked World Environment Day 2025, focusing on the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution Globally.” Over 19,000 schools participated in activities like tree plantation drives, cloth bag stitching demonstrations, cloth bag distribution, and the creation of School Nutrition Gardens. These initiatives aimed to promote eco-friendly practices, reduce plastic usage, and instill sustainable living habits in students for a greener future.

Additionally, students from Classes 6 to 10 celebrated Bagless Day with hands-on activities such as handicrafts, games, and artistic performances. This initiative focused on experiential learning, encouraging creativity and practical skills development outside the traditional classroom setting.

A Step Towards Holistic Education

Minister Bains underscored the School Education Department’s commitment to student-centered learning and parental involvement. The Mega PTM, combined with the celebrations of World Environment Day and Bagless Day, reflects a significant step toward holistic education, fostering not only academic growth but also environmental awareness and practical skills among students.
