In a significant move to enhance public convenience, the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has introduced 34 new services from the Revenue and Transport Departments, accessible either from home via the 1076 helpline or through the district’s 42 Seva Kendras. This initiative reflects the state’s ongoing efforts to expand e-governance and improve service delivery at Seva Kendras.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav shared details about the six new Revenue Department services now available at Seva Kendras. These include inheritance or registry mutation, corrections or entries in the Jamabandi, subscription requests (to receive updates via messages), and obtaining digital Jamabandi copies. She emphasized that residents no longer need to visit Tehsil offices or Patwaris for these services. Dr. Yadav also outlined the 28 Transport Department services, which include learner’s license applications, address or name changes in learner’s licenses, issuing duplicates of learner’s or driving licenses, driving license renewals (without test), driving license replacements, updates to address, name, or date of birth in driving licenses, obtaining license details, removing a vehicle category from a license, issuing public service vehicle badges for drivers, renewing conductor licenses, and extending learner’s license validity.
Additionally, services related to Registration Certificates (RC) are now available, such as applying for RC duplicates, requesting an NOC for RC, updating addresses in RC, viewing RC details upon fee payment, transferring vehicle ownership (non-transport), paying lifetime tax for ownership transfers, endorsing hire-purchase agreements, updating mobile numbers, obtaining fitness certificate duplicates, and issuing fitness certificates for commercial vehicles.
