Novelist Nanak Singh’s Personal Belongings Donated to Punjab Language Department

Patiala, January 30
The family of renowned novelist Nanak Singh (late) has donated some of his personal belongings to the Punjab Language Department. The department has established a special section in its library at Bhasha Bhavan, Patiala, to showcase these items.
The unveiling of this new section took place yesterday in the presence of Nanak Singh’s grandson, Karamveer Singh Soori. Several dignitaries were present, including Joint Director Harpreet Kaur, Deputy Director Harbhajan Kaur, Assistant Director Amrinder Singh, Alok Chawla, Surinder Kaur, Superintendents Bhupinderpal Singh and Swaranjeet Kaur, Research Assistants Harpreet Singh, Gurjit Singh, Manjinder Singh, Neha, and Jagmel Singh.
Jaswant Singh Zaffar, Director of the Language Department, stated that this new initiative aims to preserve the memory and personal effects of renowned writers. He added that this project began with the cooperation of Nanak Singh’s family and that similar efforts will be made in the future with the support of other writers and their families. The department hopes to gradually build a kind of museum showcasing items related to Punjabi writers.
Karamveer Singh Soori expressed his appreciation for the Language Department’s initiative. He thanked the department for preserving Nanak Singh’s belongings in such a beautiful manner.
