Pathankot Farmer’s Daughter Commissioned as Indian Army Officer

Chandigarh, September 7
Palvi Rajput, an alumna of Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI), has been commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. She successfully completed her training at the Officer’s Training Academy in Chennai and participated in the passing out parade.
Lieutenant Palvi Rajput, a daughter of a Pathankot farmer, is the latest achievement for the institute. Her commissioning into the Artillery Regiment is a testament to the institute’s dedication to empowering young women and preparing them for careers in the armed forces.

Minister Aman Arora congratulated Lieutenant Rajput on her success and expressed hope that her achievement will inspire more girls in Punjab to consider careers in the military. He highlighted the state government’s support for initiatives like the NDA Preparatory Wing at Mai Bhago AFPI, which aims to increase the number of female officers in the Indian Armed Forces.
The director of Mai Bhago AFPI, Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu, expressed satisfaction with the institute’s success in producing commissioned officers. He emphasized the institute’s role in strengthening the state government’s efforts to increase female representation in the armed forces.
