Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann celebrated India’s Independence Day by recognizing outstanding contributions across various fields. A total of 15 individuals were bestowed with state awards for their exemplary work in social activism, arts, literature, poetry, environment, and public service.
Among the honorees were social activists, artists, writers, poets, environmentalists, government officials, and even a student who have made significant impacts in their respective domains. The Chief Minister presented certificates and awards to Dr. Jasveer Singh Gill (Ludhiana), Yudhwinder Singh (Ludhiana), Avtar Singh (Khusropur, Jalandhar), Gurwindervir Singh (Pattewal, Jalandhar), Master Azan Kapoor (Amritsar), Vinayak Mittal (Ludhiana), Sunita Sabharwal (Patiala), Rachhpal Kaur Sidhu (Patiala), Maneet Diwan (Ludhiana), Barinder Singh (Village Masti Pal Kot, Hoshiarpur), Vinod Kumar Sharma (Patiala), Sham Kumar (Pathankot), and The Lambra Kangri Multipurpose Co-operative Service Society Lambra.

In recognition of exceptional service, three police officers – Amandeep Kumar SI, Jasbir Singh ASI, and Ranjit Singh Constable – were honored with the prestigious Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak. Additionally, 18 police personnel, including Jagwinder Singh Commandant, Jaskiranjit Singh Teja DCP Ludhiana, and others, received the Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Duty.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged environmental efforts by awarding the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Punjab State Annual Environment Award to Gram Panchayat Rurkan Kalan and Sumitri Devi, an Asha worker from Village Bulandpur (Jalandhar). Furthermore, the Tent Pegging Team, led by DIG Inderbir Singh, was commended for its outstanding performance.
These recognitions highlight the Punjab government’s commitment to honoring individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the state’s progress and development.
