Tamil Nadu Rajya Sabha MP Meets Punjab CM, Extends Formal Invitation for Major Event
Chandigarh, August 23
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will participate as the Chief Guest at a significant event in Chennai to celebrate the expansion of the Tamil Nadu Government’s Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme.
On Saturday, Tamil Nadu’s Rajya Sabha MP, Shri Wilson, met Chief Minister Mann and extended a formal invitation on behalf of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The event, set for August 26, will mark the extension of the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme to all government-aided schools in urban areas.
During the meeting with the Rajya Sabha MP, Chief Minister Mann expressed great pride and honor in being invited to the event. He praised the Tamil Nadu Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, for initiating numerous progressive and welfare-focused programs. Highlighting the Breakfast Scheme, Mann noted that since its launch in 2022, it has yielded impressive results, including increased school attendance, improved concentration among students, and a reduction in illness rates among primary school children.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the scheme has been instrumental in ensuring children attend school without hunger, enhancing their nutritional health, improving learning outcomes, and alleviating the burden on working mothers. He pointed out that the initiative has already benefited 7.53 lakh students across 34,987 schools. Mann described the opportunity to witness the scheme’s expansion as a “momentous occasion” for such a transformative and people-oriented initiative.
Mann further stressed that programs like this are essential for uplifting the most vulnerable and marginalized sections of society. He highlighted that the Aam Aadmi Party, led by Arvind Kejriwal, has prioritized education and healthcare in national political discussions, establishing them as core pillars of governance. Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Rajya Sabha MP for the invitation, Mann said, “It will be a unique and enriching experience to witness the launch of a major educational reform in Tamil Nadu—a state renowned for its pioneering contributions to social and educational progress.”
