Rampura Phul (Bathinda), October 11, 2025
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) in Rampura Phul, slamming opposition parties for their misleading propaganda and vested interests. He accused opposition leaders of seeking power to settle personal scores rather than serving the public, highlighting their history of plundering state wealth for political gains.
Inauguration of ROB
The newly constructed ROB, built at a cost of Rs. 63.55 crore, spans 1,130 meters and connects Rampura city with Patiala and Nabha Mandis. Mann emphasized that the bridge will ease transportation, save time, and reduce inconvenience caused by frequent railway crossing closures. It will benefit residents of Bathinda and neighboring districts, boost economic progress, and ensure timely commutes for school students.
Critique of Opposition
Addressing the gathering, Mann accused opposition leaders of lacking vision for Punjab’s development, focusing instead on silencing the common man. He criticized former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal for allegedly distributing Golak money for political gains rather than using personal wealth from businesses like Dabwali Transport or Sukh Vilas. Mann questioned how Akali leaders built flourishing businesses from modest landholdings, alleging they patronized the drug trade, leading to a “genocide of generations.” He vowed strict action against drug trade perpetrators, noting that his government has arrested influential leaders previously untouched due to their affluence.

Pro-People Initiatives
The Chief Minister outlined key achievements of his government:
-
Infrastructure Development: Construction of over 19,000 km of link roads to facilitate rural commuting and boost trade, with strict quality checks by Punjab Mandi Board and PWD.

Commitment to Public Welfare
Mann contrasted his government’s transparency with previous regimes that kept people uninformed. The CM reiterated his dedication to ensuring every decision benefits the common man, fostering trust and development across Punjab.
