The Punjab Police is set to bolster its surveillance efforts by increasing the deployment of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at crime hotspots and drug trafficking areas across the state. This initiative is part of the police department’s ongoing efforts to curb petty crimes and drug-related activities.
Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav announced the plan during a state-level Law and Order review meeting. The meeting was attended by senior police officials and heads of operational wings.

- CCTV Saturation: CCTV control rooms will be established at district and sub-divisional levels for real-time monitoring.

- Festival Season Vigilance: Enhanced surveillance and dominance will be maintained in areas with high footfall during the upcoming festival season.
- Ground-Level Feedback: The DGP sought feedback from CPs/SSPs to address challenges faced by police personnel.
By intensifying CCTV surveillance and taking proactive measures, the Punjab Police aims to make the state safer and more secure for its citizens.
