Punjab Transport Department Achieves Record Revenue Growth of Rs. 5375.65 Crore from 2022-2025

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government’s commitment to improved governance has led the Transport Department to collect an additional revenue of Rs. 5375.65 crore during 2022-2025 compared to 2019-2022, showcasing enhanced administration, according to Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar.
Bhullar highlighted that the non-commercial wing, including PUNBUS, Punjab Roadways, and PEPSU, has significantly boosted revenue, reflecting the department’s focus on financial improvement. The Transport Department remains dedicated to further increasing revenue and enhancing public services.
Over the past three years (2022-2025), the non-commercial wing (STC) amassed Rs. 9037.49 crore in revenue, compared to Rs. 5825.38 crore during 2019-2022, marking a record additional collection of Rs. 3212.11 crore. PUNBUS and Punjab Roadways together generated Rs. 2323.21 crore in 2022-2025, an increase of Rs. 990.91 crore from the Rs. 1332.03 crore collected in 2019-2022. Similarly, PEPSU Roadways Transport Corporation recorded Rs. 2894.15 crore in 2022-2025, up by Rs. 1172.63 crore from Rs. 1721.52 crore in the previous three years.

Bhullar emphasized that this achievement underscores the department’s improved revenue collection strategies and the state government’s diligent efforts. He added that under CM Mann’s leadership, Punjab has been progressing toward comprehensive development, aiming to become a vibrant “Rangla Punjab” over the past three years.
