The Punjab Government, alongside local communities and various organizations, continues to dispatch relief materials to flood-affected areas. Prioritizing the needs of flood victims, special attention is being given to healthcare services. With public support, the state’s entire administrative machinery is working tirelessly to assist those impacted by the floods.
Punjab Cabinet Minister and Aam Aadmi Party State President Aman Arora flagged off 11 trucks carrying relief supplies from Sunam to flood-affected areas on Saturday. These trucks contained ration kits, food items, and cattle fodder to support affected families.

Panchayat Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond, on the second day of his visit to Fazilka district, reviewed flood relief arrangements with the district administration. He stated that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, the Punjab Government has completed the first round of ration distribution to affected families in the district, with a second round now underway. In the first round, 3,835 families received ration kits and cattle feed.
Sond highlighted that comprehensive assistance is being provided to people in relief camps. The Health Department has deployed round-the-clock medical teams at Pattan Post, Kawan Wali Pattan, and Attu Wala Pul. Water sampling is ongoing in villages, with samples sent to Chandigarh’s laboratory for testing. So far, the Health Department has examined 1,500 patients and provided free medicines, while 14 teams from the Animal Husbandry Department are active in the district.
Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian visited flood-affected areas in Fazilka during heavy rain, interacting with residents of Ghurka village and assuring them of the Punjab Government’s unwavering support during this crisis.
Jails and Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar visited flood-affected areas in Tarn Taran, assessed the situation, and led relief efforts. He distributed dry ration, drinking water, essential food items, and cattle fodder, feed, and bran in villages like Kot Budha, Bhojoke, Jhuggian Peer Bakhsh, Radalke, Ram Singh Wala, Sabhra, and Rasulpur, along the Dhussi Bandh. Bhullar assured residents that no family would go without ration.
Cabinet Ministers Lal Chand Kataruchak and Dr. Balbir Singh visited flood-affected villages in the Bhoa and Narot Jaimal Singh areas, inspecting the Ravi River’s condition. Villages such as Narot Jaimal Singh, Jaidpur, Bamial, Bhagwal, and Kohlian Adda were covered. Relief supply vehicles were also dispatched from Sarna to various areas.
Dr. Balbir Singh noted that the Health Department is organizing around 27 medical camps daily, benefiting approximately 500–600 people each day.
