Bhagwant Singh Mann described the floods as a natural catastrophe of unprecedented scale, one that will linger in collective memory for generations. “The floods didn’t just bring water—they swept away millions of dreams,” he said, labeling it one of the most devastating tragedies in Punjab’s recent history. Yet, he added, Punjab has always risen stronger from every trial, and this mission embodies that resilient spirit.
Emphasizing the ethos of the initiative, the Chief Minister explained, “Chardikala represents the timeless Sikh values of strength and optimism amid adversity. Mission Chardikala is a rallying cry for all Punjabis worldwide to unite as one family during this unprecedented hardship.” He expressed optimism that more global Punjabis will contribute generously to help rebuild the state of their dreams. Assuring full transparency and accountability, Mann committed that every rupee raised will be spent judiciously for the welfare and rehabilitation of flood victims.
