278 Flying Squads Deployed to Ensure Fairness in Punjab School Board Exams

In a significant move to curb cheating during the upcoming board examinations for classes 8th, 10th, and 12th , the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has established 278 flying squads , each comprising three members. This initiative was announced by S. Harjot Singh Bains , Minister of School Education, Punjab, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the examination process under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann .
Flying Squads to Conduct Surprise Inspections
The flying squads will be led by District Education Officers (DEOs) , Principals , members of the PSEB , and representatives from the Board’s Academic Councils . These teams will conduct surprise inspections at examination centers across the state to prevent malpractices and ensure a fair environment for all students.
Special attention will be given to schools in border areas , where the risk of irregularities is perceived to be higher. The School Education Minister directed senior officials to intensify monitoring efforts in these regions to maintain strict discipline during the exams.

Over 8.82 Lakh Students to Appear for Exams
With over 8.82 lakh students set to appear for the Class 8, 10, and 12 board exams, Harjot Bains emphasized the critical role these examinations play in shaping the academic futures of students. He stressed that the government is committed to ensuring a level playing field for all candidates, allowing them to showcase their true potential without unfair advantages.
