3rd International Punjabi Language Olympiad Sees 2.25 Lakh Registrations

• Top Achievers to Receive Cash Prizes; Schools of Winners to Get Special Awards & Recognition

In a resounding global embrace of Punjabi heritage, the 3rd International Punjabi Language Olympiad organized by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has shattered records with over 2,25,916 student registrations from across the world, announced Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains.

This year’s participation marks a staggering 9-fold increase compared to previous editions (24,698 in the 2nd and 6,689 in the 1st), reflecting an unprecedented surge in youth enthusiasm for the mother tongue.

Crediting the visionary leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Minister Bains said:

“Witnessing 2.25 lakh+ students worldwide reconnect with their linguistic roots is a dream realized. This overwhelming response – fueled by parents, teachers, and school managements – stems from our government’s aggressive global outreach to elevate Punjabi on the world stage.”

Students from Norway, Kenya, UAE, and Indian states including Maharashtra, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and beyond have joined the movement.

Lucrative Rewards to Fuel Excellence

In each category (Primary, Middle, Secondary):

  • 1st Prize: ₹11,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₹7,100
  • 3rd Prize: ₹5,100

Top 10 performers in every group will be rewarded. Schools producing winners will receive special awards and public recognition, promoting institutional excellence.

Minister Bains added:

PSEB Ensures Fair & Tech-Enabled Process

PSEB Chairman Dr. Amarpal Singh confirmed:

  • Registration closed successfully on October 31.
  • Free e-books and mock tests (Nov 10–12) saw 1,35,784 students participate.
  • Elementary-level practice round: Nov 15–16.

Olympiad Schedule (Online, AI-Proctored)

  • Dec 5: Primary Level
  • Dec 6: Middle Level
  • Dec 8: Secondary Level
  • Round 2: Dec 15–16
  • Grand Finale: Dec 23, 2025

All tests will be conducted with cutting-edge monitoring technology to ensure transparency and fairness.
