-Mandatory Program from Nursery to Class 12 Aims to Instill Righteousness, Truth, and Justice
-DCs Urged to Visit Schools to Motivate Students

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains launched a mandatory education module on the life and unparalleled sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in all schools—government, private, and aided, affiliated with any board—from Nursery to Class 12. The initiative marks the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Guru and runs until November 30, 2025 (excluding holidays).
Bains personally visited Government High School, Dasgran, and Mount Carmel School, Jindwari, in Rupnagar district, interacting with students and sharing the Guru’s teachings. He urged all Deputy Commissioners and senior officials to visit schools to motivate students and reinforce the Guru’s legacy.

Developed by the Punjab School Education Board and vetted by the SGPC, the module includes:
- A 10–12 minute daily morning assembly segment on Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life, martyrdom, Mata Gujri Ji’s role, and the creation of the Khalsa Panth.
- Special lectures, poetry recitations, speech competitions, essay writing, and distribution of historical books.
Bains emphasized that the program goes beyond history, focusing on character building and instilling values of righteousness, truth, justice, and interfaith solidarity. “Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s sacrifice is a beacon of humanity that transcends communities. The new generation must inherit this legacy of valour and empathy,” he said.
He urged teachers to deliver the Guru’s teachings with dedication and affection, aiming to mould students into responsible, compassionate citizens.
