SENIOR XEN, J.E., STORE KEEPER SUSPENDED FOR ATTEMPTED FINANCIAL MALPRACTICE AT PSPCL’S KOTAKPURA CENTRAL RESERVOIR : HARBHAJAN SINGH

POLICE ACTION INITIATED AGAINST EMPLOYEES AND TRADER INVOLVED IN CASE

In line with the Punjab Government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, Punjab Power and Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO announced the immediate suspension of a Senior Xen, JE, and Store Keeper for attempting financial malpractice at PSPCL’s Kotakpura central reservoir. Police action has also been initiated against the employees and the trader involved in the case.

In a press statement, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO detailed that PSPCL’s Enforcement Wing and Technical Investigation Wing teams conducted a surprise inspection of the Central Warehouse, PSPCL, Kotakpura on July 25. During this inspection, they discovered an attempt to hide new aluminum conductors among scrap goods in one of the three trucks carrying the scrap, which could have led to significant financial losses for PSPCL.

The officials responsible, including Senior Xen (Store) Beant Singh, JE Gurmail Singh, and Store Keeper Nirmal Singh, have been suspended, and police action has been initiated against them and the involved trader. Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO emphasized that no officer, regardless of their rank or seniority, will be exempt from accountability if found guilty of negligence or corruption. He asserted, “The highest standards of integrity and performance are expected from all officials, and swift action will be taken against anyone failing to meet these expectations.”
