“Blatant misuse of central agencies; Arvind Kejriwal’s health declining daily, yet he remains jailed on false charges,” says AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab staged a statewide protest against what they described as the dictatorial actions of the BJP, accusing them of misusing central agencies and unjustly imprisoning Arvind Kejriwal under false charges. AAP leaders asserted that there is no evidence of any wrongdoing by Kejriwal or any other AAP leader, labeling Kejriwal as a political prisoner and demanding his immediate release.
Thousands gathered for a state-level protest near Gurudwara Sri Amb Sahib, Mohali, in opposition to the arrest and ongoing mistreatment of the AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. AAP cabinet ministers, MLAs, and party members joined in large numbers. AAP Punjab General Secretary Harchand Singh Barsat convened the stage, strongly criticizing the Modi government for their unconstitutional actions against Kejriwal.

Cabinet Minister Brahm Shanker Jimpa addressed the gathering, accusing the BJP of blatantly misusing ED and CBI. He claimed that the BJP, after recognizing the threat posed by Arvind Kejriwal and AAP post-Gujarat elections, began arresting AAP leaders on false charges. Highlighting AAP’s revolutionary work in education and health in Delhi and Punjab, Jimpa stated that the BJP’s fear of Kejriwal’s influence led to his unjust imprisonment. He mentioned that even witnesses had directly given money to the BJP, and that Kejriwal was wrongfully arrested by the CBI after securing bail from the session court.

Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar emphasized that the INDIA alliance is staging protests nationwide against the misuse of central agencies. He explained how the ED first jailed Kejriwal under false charges, and when he was about to get bail, the CBI filed another case to stop his release. Bhullar noted that no money trail or evidence of corruption was found, proving Kejriwal’s innocence. He added that BJP’s fear of Kejriwal’s campaigning potential led to his arrest, asserting that the INDIA Alliance would have won significantly more seats had Kejriwal been able to campaign.

Minister Balkar Singh described Arvind Kejriwal as a visionary leader and a former IRS officer who sacrificed everything for the people. Singh claimed that Kejriwal’s popularity and ideas frightened the BJP, leading to his imprisonment on false charges just before the elections. He condemned Kejriwal’s arrest as an attack on democracy.

“Truth always prevails; people are with AAP and Arvind Kejriwal,” says Minister Lalchand Kataruchakk
Minister Lalchand Kataruchakk asserted that the power of the people and the truth will ultimately prevail. Drawing parallels to historical figures who failed to suppress the revolutionary spirit of Punjab, he expressed confidence that the people of Punjab stand with Kejriwal and AAP. He condemned BJP’s actions against democracy and called for Kejriwal’s immediate release.

Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian emphasized that Kejriwal’s imprisonment without any proof is unprecedented. He accused BJP of fearing Kejriwal’s influence on upcoming elections, leading to his arrest without proper medical attention despite his declining health. Khuddian predicted that the people would punish BJP for their undemocratic actions, eventually leading to their removal from power.
