India Falls Short in Hockey Semi-finals : India loses to Germany 2-3, will now play for the bronze medal

The dream of Indian hockey fans and the team, who had their eyes set on the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, was shattered when world champions Germany defeated Team Harmanpreet 3-2 in the semi-final match played on Tuesday. Although the Indian team performed well, they missed the opportunity at the most crucial moment. And Germany won the match 3-2. Now the Indian team will compete for the bronze medal.
First Quarter to India India took the lead by scoring a goal in the seventh minute of the game. In the seventh minute of the game, India got four consecutive penalty corners due to a mistake by the German defenders. And on the fourth, Harmanpreet scored a drag flick goal to give India a 1-0 lead. Overall, the first quarter belonged to India. The Indian players prioritized attacking hockey. Second Quarter: Germany leads 2-1 Just three minutes into the second quarter, Germany got their first penalty corner. And they converted it into a goal to make the score 1-1. The goal was scored by Peilt on their behalf. In the 27th minute of the game, Germany got their second penalty corner. After hitting the defender’s foot, it was changed to a penalty stroke in the review. And Germany scored to make the score 2-1.
