Punjab Police have made a significant breakthrough in their ongoing anti-drug campaign by arresting Simranjot Singh Sandhu, an international drug smuggler wanted by German authorities for a 487kg cocaine smuggling case.
The arrest comes as a result of investigations into a local drug case, where the accused, Simranjot, was identified as a key player in the international drug trade. He is believed to have played a pivotal role in smuggling drugs to India and other European countries.

To evade capture, Sandhu had fled to Dubai before returning to India in September 2023. He was eventually apprehended in Moga district.
Punjab Police have initiated a detailed interrogation to uncover his activities within India. This arrest underscores the state government’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace, as per the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
