Moga/Chandigarh, August 23
Punjab’s Power and Public Works Minister, Harbhajan Singh, convened a meeting today with senior district officials to assess the progress of development projects and welfare schemes in Moga. During the meeting, the Minister took immediate action by suspending a Junior Engineer (JE) from PSPCL’s Bilaspur Sub Division, following allegations of demanding bribes. Additionally, an employee of a private company was terminated on the spot for corrupt practices. Several officials were also issued show-cause notices for poor performance and failing to attend the meeting.
Minister Harbhajan Singh directed officials to expedite the commencement of approved projects, ensure the creation of labor cards, rationalize the duties of patwaris, and involve elected representatives in foundation stone ceremonies, inaugurations, and other public welfare activities. He emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to the comprehensive development of the state, and the timely completion of development projects is crucial to achieving this goal.

The Minister also instructed officials to integrate solar energy into schools, hospitals, and Ayush facilities, ensuring that the benefits of the ‘Aap Di Sarkar-Aap De Duar’ campaign reach the maximum number of people.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora, MLA Moga; Manjit Singh Bilaspur, MLA Nihal Singh Wala; Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, MLA Baghapurana; Davinderjit Singh Laddi Dhons, MLA Dharamkot; Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal; SSP Dr. Ankur Gupta; and other senior officials.
