England Announces Surprising Squad for T20 World Cup

England has named a 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, with some notable omissions. The team, led by Heather Knight, will be looking to defend their title in the tournament, which takes place in October.

The English selectors have rewarded strong performances from the recent domestic Hundred competition, with players like Linsey Smith, Lauren Bell, Dani Gibson, and Bess Heath earning places in the final squad.

However, experienced opener Tammy Beaumont has missed out on selection, despite her impressive performance in The Hundred. Seamer Kate Cross and young quick Lauren Filer are also absent from the squad.

England is drawn in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies.
