The Punjab Vidhan Sabha, on Wednesday, approved four significant bills.
The Punjab Goods and Service Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024, was introduced by Finance, Excise and Taxation Minister Harpal Singh Cheema. The Punjab Fire and Emergency Service Bill, 2024, was presented by Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh. Finally, the Punjab Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2024, was brought forth by Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar. All three bills were passed unanimously.

The Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets (Amendment) Bill, 2024, presented by Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, was also approved by the assembly, albeit with majority support.
