Ajay Ratra Appointed to Men’s Selection Committee

Patiala, 06 September (Sports Desk)

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Cricket Advisory Committee has appointed Ajay Ratra as the newest member of the Men’s Selection Committee. Ratra replaces Salil Ankola on the panel, which is headed by Ajit Agarkar.

Ratra, a former Indian wicketkeeper-batter, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He played six Tests and twelve ODIs for India and represented Haryana in over 90 First Class matches, scoring close to 4000 runs and effecting over 240 dismissals.

As a selector, Ratra will work alongside the existing members to identify and nurture the next generation of Indian cricketers. His extensive coaching experience, including stints as Head Coach of Assam, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, and his involvement in the Indian team’s coaching staff during their ODI series in South Africa in 2023, will be invaluable to the committee.
